A Quick Note about KidFriendly DC on Facebook

If you “like” pages on Facebook, by now you’ve probably seen a message from at least one of them explaining how Facebook has started a “Pay to Promote” program, where people like me, who maintain pages for a website or business, can pay to have more people see their posts in followers’ news feeds.  This has greatly affected the Facebook algorithm (however it may work), and many posts from pages now are not showing up in followers’ news feeds if we don’t pay for it.  Personally, I think it’s BS.

But there is a way around it if you want to make sure you get updates from the Facebook pages you like. And I do recommend following KFDC on FB, because I often post things there that I don’t always have time to dedicate a blog to, including local deals, events I hear about last minute, fun photos, and links from other sites.

Anyway, here’s what you need to do to ensure you get my updates: Go to the KidFriendly DC page, hover over the “Liked” button, then select both “Show in News Feed” and “Get Notifications.”  The latter feature enables you to get a notification if one of my updates doesn’t show up in your news feed.

I hope this all makes sense.  And, don’t worry, I’m not an over-poster, so your news feed will not be inundated with my updates!

thanks! love your site… bummed that you switched to partial feed. Would really love you to go back to full feed—makes blog reading so much easier as I quickly flip through my google reader. Partial feeds for me get overlooked— I hope you consider going back!
