Monday - Check out “1001 Inventions” at the National Geographic Museum while you can! The exhibit will only be on view for one more week, until February 3. It’s highly interactive, with displays and installments that even little ones can enjoy. Stop by the wonderful “Birds in Paradise” exhibit while you’re there. Museum hours are 10am – 6pm. Tuesday - If we get the weather the forecast is promising, then get outdoors and seize the day! Who knows when we’ll have another day like it again? See this post about the best places in the DC area to enjoy a beautiful day outdoors with the kids for ideas.
Wednesday - See a show especially for little ones. Mid-week Tiny Tots shows are back at The Puppet Co. with Panda-Monium this week. The lights stay on and doors stay open during these performances for the youngest audiences. Showtime is 10am. Tickets are $5 for everyone, including babies. After the performance, plan to hang out at Glen Echo Park for some fun on the playground.
Thursday - Get a new view of DC and a little dose of history on a tour of The Old Post Office Tower. The public is welcome to ride in the glass elevator, check out displays about the landmark’s significance, and see the inner-workings of the big ticker along with enjoying the vistas. Hours are 9am – 4:45pm, and admission is free.
Friday - End the week on a bouncy note at Joyful Jumps in Bowie, Md. The indoor play center offers Open Play everyday, just drop in anytime for a two-hour session of amusement on their bouncing inflatables, slides, and obstacle courses. Admission is $8.50/ages 17 mos. – 16 year. Hours are 10am – 9pm on Fridays (10am-7pm Monday – Thursday).
