All Aboard for a Bethesda Big Train Giveaway

Thanks to Activity Rocket, our family is about to attend our first summer collegiate game in the area. The website that lets you search and compare activities, classes, and camps in DC, Montgomery County, and Fairfax County is about to relaunch, and to celebrate they are hosting a Rocket Night @ Big Train Baseball and offering half-priced tickets, to boot!

The big night is this Sunday, July 21, and the match-up against the Southern Maryland Nationals begins at 7:30pm. Tickets with the discount are $4.50/adults, $3.50/seniors, $2.50/ages 6-12 (plus fees). Activity Rocket graciously invited us to be their guests at the game and also gave me four tickets to give away to a lucky KFDC reader.

Giveaway: To enter for a chance to win the tickets to Bethesda Big Train vs. Southern Maryland Nationals, simply leave a comment below telling me your kid’s favorite camp or class (or one you think they’d love if they haven’t done camps or classes yet). To be eligible for the contest you must like KidFriendly DC on Facebook, and you can earn an extra entry by following KFDC on Twitter. I’ll only be accepting entries through tomorrow, July 16, since I’ll need to send out the tickets soon. Good luck!

My son loves his camp at the DCJCC and Silver Stars!

I think my daughter will love gymnastics when she gets a bit older.

  3. Paula

I’d have to say gymnastics as well – my kid would have so much fun!

Little Loft summer camp is my daughter’s favorite camp. As a new Hill business, this is the first year they have offered camp and they really nailed it! My daughter loves art and anything project-based so this camp has really appealed to her first love. Like most kids, she is also very active. Little Loft designed a camp that includes wonderful art projects, movement, music and yoga. My daughter, who is a bit shy and reticent in new settings, embraced her experience and loved telling us about it. Hats off to the owners who have an acuity for connecting children to art and creating a well-rounded program that builds on a child’s individual strengths. They definitely know what they’re doing over there!

Our sons are big fans of Kids After Hours.

I would also like to offer one correction to your story. The Bethesda Big Train are not a minor league baseball team. They are actually a team made up of current college baseball players from all over the United States. The league they play in is consider summer baseball and offers the players the opportunity to play baseball with wooden baseball bats and display their skills for major league baseball scouts.

Thanks, Adam – you’re actually the second person who pointed that out to me. Just corrected on the post (and need to brush up on my local baseball knowledge)!

My kids love the Franklin Middle School Band and Orchestra Camp. Although, my son would love to be a part of Motor racing camp as well.
