Big Names, Big Tickets

Thomas. Dora. Laurie. Kai-Lan. If any of these names mean something to your kids, then you have an opportunity to make their day—big time. All of the above beloved, plus a few more, will be performing live in the area soon, and we’ve got details of how to get in on it.

Laurie Berkner is coming to Baltimore’s Pier Six Pavillion on May 1. Tickets are $20-$50 and go on sale tomorrow, March 12, at 12pm. Guaranteed to be a good one. We took Owen to see Laurie a couple of years ago, and the show was just as fun as her catchy songs. (Is it okay to admit that this was one concert where I knew the words to every tune?)

Thomas & Friends are also rolling into Baltimore in a few weeks. From April 23 – 25 and April 30-May 2, the B&O Railroad Museum will be celebrating the cherished tank engine’s 65th birthday. Among the fun will be rides on a Thomas-led train and photo ops with Sir Topham Hatt. Tickets are $18.

Nick Jr.’s “in” crowd will take the stage at the Warner Theater April 16-18 when Nickelodeon Presents Storytime Live! comes to town. Everyone from Dora and Kai-lan to Pablo & the gang and Linny, Tuck, and Ming Ming, too, will be there for the fun. Hosted by Moose and Zee. Tickets are $16 – $46.

Big names of the Olympic variety will be here for Smucker’s Stars on Ice at the Verizon Center on April 8. Sasha Cohen and Evan Lysacek lead the line-up of figure skaters who will awe and entertain with jumps, spins, and other amazing stunts on ice . Adult tickets are $25 – $140, children under 12 are $12.50 – $22.50.

Great. Now I have the vision of Ali G running around on skates and diving into a large vat of preserves. Or is it Brueno?
