ZooLights – The National Zoo’s annual holiday light show gets special mention, as it begins tonight and welcomes guests to enjoy its dazzling illuminations for FREE.

Betheda’s Winter Wonderland – Celebrate the holiday season in downtown Bethesda with a variety of free performances, a live ice sculpting presentation in Bethesda’s Veterans Park and a visit from Santa Claus. Festivities begin this evening with a concert at 8pm, and then continue tomorrow, December 4, at 1pm with ice sculptures, a student concert, and Santa.
Labyrinth Game Shop Grand Opening – Enjoy a day of games, custom puzzle crafts, prizes, drawings, and more at Captiol Hill’s new shop.
Ornament Decorating for Families – On Saturday, December 4, the Alexandria Archaeology Museum is hosting this free holiday workshop from 1 – 4pm. Be inspired by the colors and patterns of pottery excavated in Alexandria and make a memorable holiday keepsake. Participants can decorate and take home dough ornaments which are shaped like artifacts from the museum’s own collection. The museum is located at 105 North Union Street, #327.
3rd Annual Merriment in Georgetown – The neighborhood is always bustling, but it will be even more so this Sunday, December 5. Usher in the season and get a jumpstart on holiday shopping with special sales and events, seasonal festivities, children’s activities, and culinary treats. Santa will arrive in a horse-drawn carriage and there will be holiday performances throughout the day. Enjoy traditional holiday beverages, free photos with Santa, and many more winter activities throughout Georgetown.
Holiday Sing-a-Long at Wolf Trap – Kick off the holiday season on Sunday, December 5, at 4pm, at Wolf Trap’s annual Holiday Sing-A-Long. This free musical celebration hosts a performance by the United States Marine Band and a Sing-A-Long of Christmas carols and Hanukkah songs with choir and vocal groups from the metropolitan Washington area. While there is no admission fee, Wolf Trap will be participating in Toys for Tots by collecting new, unwrapped toys at the entrance to the Filene Center before the Sing-A-Long. Donations are strictly voluntary and not a requirement.
