Who’s up for happy hour this weekend? The Heights, a neighborhood restaurant in Columbia Heights, is hosting a few hours of fun for kiddos on Sunday, May 1, and they’re doing it with an emphasis on healthy eating.
Guests can look forward to mocktails and smoothies along with carnival-style fun, including face painting, balloons, game and prizes, and snow cones. Healthy fare will be served as well as a few fun treats that kids will dig — worms and dirt, chocolate pudding with chocolate cookies on top sounds like it will be quite a crowd-pleaser.
The event comes as part of the restaurant’s effort to revamp the product offered to customers. EatWellDC, owners of The Heights and several other DC eateries, recently purchased a farm and have plans to eventually serve all locally grown food. Sunday’s event is a family-friendly way to get started, and they hope to make the weekend happy hours a regular activity during the summer.
